You Are What You Put Your Time Into
Quarantine, I said it now lets begin.
Now is the time to put your ego talk where my muscles are.
Who can relate?
A work colleague, family member or random person finds out you train or do a sport, you're decent at it, you look fit and healthy, you don't mention it because it's your thing and you don't want to bore them or show off, but then Suddenly! out of nowhere you get preached at unprovoked “You have more time than me, If I didn't have a standard job or adult life commitments I would be; fitter, stronger, leaner, faster, healthier, at athlete level, better than (insert person you are low key insulting)”.
They then lament solemnly with great defeat in their eyes while telling theoretical stories on how “If I got paid, not work, and had time to myself I would; cook all my own meals, eat clean, invest in training equipment, train more, sleep more, decrease my resting heart rate, and reach the pinnacle of fitness”.
And now you are lost thinking why have they used me as a confessions corner when all you wanted to do was eat your lunch, now it’s cold, it has a bitter taste to it and you have less than 3 mins left to wolf it down before you start back at your job.
If you can relate your time has come to let go of the bitterness and be internally smug because the weirdest thing has happened that no one could honestly have ever predicted in a weird turn of events so now is the perfect time to put the ego talk where the muscles are.
Dreams do come true, now I am excited to see who was ego talking and who was genuine.
Now my little rant is over I do want to take this time out to say now is the time for us to do all the things we wanted to but couldn't due work getting in the way, no excuses. Cook your own meals, eat clean, train more, sleep more, decrease your resting heart rate, and reach the pinnacle of fitness. And if you don’t, it’s also fine, times are hard, stressful and unpredictable but try your best so when I am back at work and its lunch I can eat in peace.
You are what you put your time into. What are you putting your time into?
