Consistency

“The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting different results.” Albert Einstein.
The definition of consistency (to me) is doing the same thing over and over again, but seeing the smallest micro-fraction of improvements.

Sometimes we are so quick to give in because we don't see the results we want instantly, we are so focused on the big successes we miss the little pigeon-step improvements that take us closer to our goal. This might appear in the form of an extra rep, a second hold longer than last time or even an extra half rep or half a second hold longer than last time. This is not a failure,
but an improvement nonetheless and this needs to be respected because it’s the micro-goals created through consistency that leads us to our end goal. Most people will only ever see your end goal, few will see your journey. Those who see your journey will think your mad because to them it looks like insanity but to you this is consistency.

Consistency, at times, can feel like insanity with even worse side effects than the same results, no results. But that's part of the journey, making micro-steps forward only to then feel like your uncontrollably leaping back. In the end your persistence will pay off and your goals will be achieved!
Rome wasn't built in a day and neither was my handstand.
